Expressions of Love on Father’s Day
God’s transforming love can overcome all! As a young girl I endured unspeakable things at the hand of my earthly father. Today, I am at a place where God has shown me how to overcome the hurt with love. Today, I am able to recognize the good in my earthly father. This Father’s Day I give honor to my earthly father because of the love of Our heavenly Father. We all need to create expressions of love on Father’s Day and the rest of the year too.
It is my prayer that you will gain freedom and strength in your life by honoring your father, because of who you are, rather than who he is. Honor your father on this Father’s Day with a newness. Give your father love by appreciating something about him today. Wherever he is, whatever you have thought in the past, whatever pain you have endured, love Our Father by showing love to your father. On this day recognize something new to love about him honors Our Father too.
Here are a few examples of how some men I talked with experience their fathers:
Hopefully as you viewed those men sharing you thought about your father or father figures in your life. Each of them expressed honor for their fathers. Certainly they had some good, some great and some not so great experiences with their fathers, you probably have also. If you are looking for some ways to honor your father even though you feel he did not deserve it click here for some ideas.
Remember the God that loved this world so much that He gave His Son, Jesus the Christ. Remember that you, like your father, are imperfect. Remember that we are commanded to honor our fathers. Remember that God knew who your parents would be before the foundation of the earth. Then remember to show love to, and for your father, especially on Father’s Day.
